After 7 interviews and team match calls, got L4 offer ( applied for L5). I’m currently a Senior Manager (Accenture level L6) with 185k base in Chicago with 12 YOE. Google final offer for MTV location : 167k base 15% bonus 200k stock (4 year vesting) 15k joining bonus 1st year: 273k (including joining bonus). I know that California is super expensive - my savings may not change much at all. Don’t know whether it’s worth it to join Google for an IC role in Corporate Engineering. anyone currently from Google doing this role, please provide your opinion. Is Google a safe place for SAP roles?
Yes Google is safe for SAP as they more moving their core erp to SAP. Implementation has been going on for few years now.
Thanks. I guess my interview performance was lukewarm. This was the final offer. I don’t have any competing offers to negotiate.
Why would you do that? Better target for L5 promo at Accenture and you would be able to get a similar salary at Accenture with a path to leadership role. Isn't this a significant downlevel going from SM to IC?
Yes, definitely a dilemma. This is where I look to current Google employees in this role to speak about their growth path (role and $) after joining Google. Although I’m a Senior Manager, I’m still IC for the most part. Doing Architecture and design for SAP projects.
Accenture giving 185k base nowdays. Interesting 🤔
That’s about it. Bonus is not that high (been getting 7-10%). And no RSU (just 15% discount to buy Accenture stock).
Bsa= Business system analyst?
Yes.
Doesn't really make much sense to move from a position where you can move into leadership roles to an individual contributor role. What I heard is that the promotions in Google from L4 to L5 and L6 is rather slow.
Have you considered some other locations like Austin if that’s an option for you ? Not sure how much the comp will change though if you change the location. What negotiation strategies did you use? The first year will be inflated due to 33% vesting I believe…
@waga.maga could you share a few Technical/System design questions asked on the on-site interview?
Did you join?
Salary is average for SAP BSA. Push for more RSU. Especially if you are coming in as a senior BSA then target total comp 300-320 minimum
