RIP Google Core Employees replaced with Mexico and India Workers
Can a Googler be so kind and let me know what the commuting options are from San Mateo (around Downtown) to Google Campus (MV and Sunnyvale)? Can be via DM as well. In my current stage, I do not want to ask recruiter but good commute would be an important aspect for me. Over 101 it's just 25min in the dead of the night but nearly unbounded during rush hour/normal times. #google #bayarea #commute
We are literally not allowed to share the shuttle info but I would ask the recruiter. I know there are plenty stops in RWC so wouldn’t be surprised they also stop by San Mateo / Burlingame
People are not allowed to share many things yet still they do (incl interview questions etc). In my opinion, this is not something crazy critical. I have friends who work at Google who I could ask but I do not want them to know that I consider it. Apple (also very secret) has sadly just no stop in San Mateo; closest one is Belmont. That sucks but commute over 280 is OK. For Google, 280 is too much detour so commute would be more important to me. Regardless, I was hoping someone could help me out, at least in private but understand if people don't want to.
I think this is more a safety issue. Obviously it’s easy info to access but there have been targeted protests of Google shuttles before
Not sure if you have access to the onboarding help ? If so, you could go to the benefits page, you will shuttle and transport information. There is a google sheet with all the route. Otherwise you can ask the recruiter
> In my current stage, I do not want to ask recruiter [...]
This is the exact type of question you should ask the recruiter
> In my current stage, I do not want to ask recruiter [...]
Not sure how accurate this is. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1-pS6XC9UL7T2fvN7acnHj2kYbj0&hl=en_US&ll=37.426086212379104%2C-122.1253015&z=9
No stage is too late. Ask the recruiter.
> In my current stage, I do not want to ask recruiter [...] > No stage is too late. Ask the recruiter. But maybe too early
Wtf is this, some kind of damn riddle? Go ask the recruiter. Do you even have a contact to ask? Are you literally basing your decision to apply around the shuttle schedule? How about you apply first and see if you even get a response?
