I'm starting with Google on Tuesday so this isn't negotiable anymore but I'm just curious to see how I did. I was at Epic for 1.5 years and was making 100k base + <5% bonuses, no equity or much else. 118k base +15% bonus target 180k in GSUs over 4 years 30k signing (This is in Kirkland) Competing offer from prop trading firm in Chicago: 130k base 20k signing 45k first year bonus 5k relocation I tried negotiating with this offer when Google beat them but they told me I already had the max offer since it was for a junior C++ developer (I didn't have previous professional experience with C++ but am passionate about it).
What is your total no of exp? Only 1.5 years?
Yup. Graduated spring 2016.
Lol don't ever trust compensation advice on Blind
Other offer has no equity? Google offer definitely better.
It's a trading firm. Equity isn't really a thing in those places unless you're a partner.
This is pretty good for T3, definitely on the higher band of T3. Plus you almost doubled your TC.
Wait, how is it 15% target bonus? Isn't it 10% for T3 at Google?
No 15% for L3-L5, unlike us
I was also placed at T3 even though I'm E4 at FB. I have a little over a year of experience. 130k base +15% bonus target 240k in GSUs 50k signing I had a competing offer from Uber for whatever is the E4 equivalent.
Hmmm. Could have done better
Mostly interview performance or just that my competing offer wasn't high enough?
It's actually pretty good for Kirkland T3. Regardless if you should have got T4 is different. Had you aced the interview that T4 was on the table.
