Got offers both from Google and Facebook for level 5 positions. Compensation is comparable and I'm excited about both companies. Not sure which one to choose. Google pros: Better wlb Better level (usually Google gives level 4 for people who get level 5 at FB) More meaningful work (making better products instead of maximing time spend on Facebook :-)) Facebook pros: More dynamic culture and less burocracy and politics Easier to get a promo What are you thoughts and advices to me, dear "blinders"?
TC breakdown at each pls? All we care about is TC. We don’t care about how one feels.
Yup. Either tell us the numbers or gtfo
Years of xp, comp breakdown, position/tech stack, google team match. Obv G is clear choice from only current details.
Google for better wlb, fb for better career
How did you prepare for the interview?
Pick the better manager
You won’t learn much at either company, but you’ll be comfortable and make good, unrisky money. I’ve done three years at each and just got bored. I’d make a play for either a unicorn or Snap. But hey, I’m maybe a little risk prone than most other engineers.
Now what kinda innovative stuff is snap doing that you are learning so much?
Snappovative: laying off top performers ;)

I've worked for both. I would have chosen Google because it's like nothing else. They're several years ahead of FB in terms of technology, and it's great to try out just to see how things could be. I'm very much life-over-work though.
You know the pros and cons and I believe you are an adult.
