Hi everyone, I recently completed my Google interview and heard back from my recruiter that I passed HC and I’d be moving forward to team matching. My recruiter said that during team match, there’s a possibility I might not get matched. This is for the new grad role. What are the chances I don’t get an offer? My location preferences were in the Bay Area. TC: 160K (Amazon offer in hands) #tech #google
Feel most of them are to see if you both would get along and I assume I'm most you do
What was the role? Where is your blind tax?
Early career — updated
Early career is not a role dude. Are you an engineer? PM? Receptionist?
At least you got through HC. Here we are waiting for headcount
Low chance. I think you’re fine. But it might take a while. I’ve seen people who were in team matching hell for two months before they signed their offer
FYI, as someone currently in the team matching process, Google appears to have a new process now where if no successful match occurs in a month, they will not move forward with your candidacy (this has been verified by my recruiter). As someone with limited location preferences this has been a slightly stressful discovery for me :')
Almost certainly will get a match
How long did they take to give you results?
I interviewed on Dec 16
Im in the same boat as you. passed hc in mid december and have an Amazon offer. But recruiter seems doesnt care. I am still in the waiting limbo for the team matching =.=
Best of luck man, for both of us
Here you go, I am in same boat for TPM role. No offer in hand. Waiting from Mid Dec, Had 1 unsuccessful Team match in mid Jan. Nothing since then.
Explain your thought process thoroughly. Like always explain what you’re thinking, if you’re stuck, the approach you’re taking, etc. Since I interviewed L3, I think the bar was a little lower in terms of problem solving and coding. I got the optimal solution for all my problems, but sometimes I didn’t get time to finish coding. I emphasize studying graphs, trees, and DP.
To be completely honest, I dont think I should give any advice on which level you should to be ask to be evaluated at. If it were me, I would probably stick at the L4 eval, and they’ll downgrade you themselves. Asking to be judged at L3 might be detrimental prematurely. The most correct thing to do would be to make a blind post and ask other Googler’s. I’m just a new grad, so take my word w a grain of salt. I think LC tagged can help but I didn’t use it personally.
I interviewed the same day as you and I am in the same position as you. Hopefully we get matched! Ironically my other offer is Microsoft so we can team up in Seattle worst case scenario lol.
Fingers crossed 🤞!! We got this man!!
One way to guarantee a result- just don't talk to any team
