Please help me understand the benefits of going to Google L3 from Intuit which does not have much salary difference of what I make at Intuit now. I feel Intuit has more benefits than google interms of employee wellbeing and 401K. Current TC: 210k Will get refreshers this July 2022. New TC: 250K (L3 Mountain View) No refreshers this year and I will be getting refreshers in Dec 2023 Google downleveled me from L4 to L3 Can we ask hiring manager before joining Google about the refreshers this year? YOE: 4+ years #tech #google #intuit #refreshers
What’s the $ value of Intuit refreshers for MA rating? I assume you’re SDE 2 there?
Level at Intuit ? Do you not like working for intuit and want to leave ? Are you interviewing more ? If you have more than 2 YoE and a tinge of self respect, DO NOT join Google at L3. It will take you forever to get promoted no matter what the recruiter tells you and it's mostly a game of finding a supportive manager. Taking a chance at the unknown vs knowing what you have at your current job. Either way, if you join now, you will have to get EE+ to expect refreshers this year. You can talk to your manager but the default is CME for your first cycle if you've been there for most of the cycle, otherwise N/A.
SWE 2 at Intuit with 4 years of exp
Then I'd say don't join Google, interview more, get SWE2/L4 equivalent roles somewhere else. Google/FB used to be special, now they take in literally anyone so the bar has gone down. Look at MS, they might match the G offer, and inflate the title. Once you're equivalent to the L5 role somewhere, go back to Google at L5.
I updated the post with YOE
If you have cracked google now then you can crack it later too
Have self respect and walk away
Don’t get desperate. Google is not a place for rapid growth so it’s not like your TC is gonna grow massively. The market is hot right now, interview more. You can do better
Intuit is a joke
What better benefits does intuit have in terms of 401k compared to Google? Genuinely curious
I think their 401k match rate is better, if ever so slightly. If you max it out, it doesn't make a difference.
