Hey Just finished interviewing and evaluating offers (All entry level roles) Background: L60 w/ 1.5 YOE Current TC: 205k Google - L3: Base: 145k Stock (RSUs): 160k Bonus: 15% of base Sign on: 25k Total compensation (1st year): 244.5k Meta - E3: Base: 130k Stock (RSUs): 210k Bonus: 10% of base Sign on: 45k Total compensation (1st year): 240.5k Amazon - L4: Base: 150k Stock (RSUs): 44 RSU Bonus: N/A Sign on: 95k Year 1, 60 k Year 2 Total compensation (1st year): 251k I had originally been given a standard non negotiable new grad offer from Meta, but earlier this week E3 industry hires were approved for a higher package to reflect YOE. Google says they cannot go higher unless I have a negotiated offer from Meta or Amazon. I will try to negotiate with meta for 270k but my recruiter is not hopeful that comp will approve more. It is very likely that I will accept the Google offer at this point. Update: Accepted google!

Why are you moving laterally when none of these is a major pay bump? You are already qualified to interview for mid-level roles. If you can pass interviews for L4/E4/SDE 2 you can get a 100k+ increase.
Amongst these three companies, 2 YOE is needed for mid-level roles (each recruiter told me this). I would have to wait an additional 6 months to reach that requirement. Because of Microsoft's 3.5 year vesting schedule (25% at 6 mos, 25% at 1.5 yrs, 25% at 2.5 yrs, 25% at 3.5 yrs) if I were to stay 2 years, I might as well stay 2.5 years in order to vest an additional 25% of my stock. (I just would rather be somewhere else than wait it out. I am impatient and bored) Long Story Short... I'm impatient so I aligned my departure w/ 1.5yr anniversary instead of 2.5 yr.
@op I am in similar boat, 1.5 yoe and L4 at Wish. Try interviewing with smaller companies, they can def give you L4 loop. think of companies like uber/airtable/tiktok/pinterest/doordash, and if you can get one of them then you can ask the biggies to uplevel you. IMO it's not worth it to down level right now, because like others mentioned you're so close to L4.

59/60 is the same band as L3... At least according to levels.fyi. This was Google's initial offer and I tried to push for 270 w/ my offer letters from meta/amazon but comp team did not budge. Will try again if meta negotiation yields any results

Oh okay nvm then. $145k base is max for L3 Seattle, but do ask for $200k RSUs then they’ll bump it up to $180k I believe.
Congrats! However, all your offers are downleveled. Because in 2 out of those 3 companies listed, people move to next level in 1.5 years. Why do you want to move? Amazon - Not worth moving to, especially downlevel. Google - Will reset career by 2 years. Might as well try for L4 after 1 year. Meta - Only reasonable/acceptable downlevel because I’ve seen people getting promoted to E4 in 1 year. Good luck!
I didn't really consider it a downlevel until posting on blind 😅. I did not realize that people get promo'ed between bands that quickly. At least currently, my manager has said its pretty typical at MS for the 60 -> 61 promo to take 2-3 years. (I was just promo'ed from 59 to 60 this fall) Not really sure if I'm in the business of waiting a year to try for L4.

Unreal amazon giving out 250k offers for L4 now. I think it was like 180 when I was there Go with google. Best WLB and you won’t lose your sanity.
