Question for Google employees that joined the company through acquisition, did you get RSUs as part of your package?
Yup…base and RSU’s. I was downleveled, and the offer was fairly low. However, I didn’t have any competing offers, it was way more than I made before joining the startup, and the retention bonus was enormous. I also got a nice payout for my equity. My goal is to get a promo before that retention bonus is done paying out (4 years)

yes but significantly less than non acq offer. the difference was made up by retention bonus, but would rather have had more rsus
Why would you prefer RSUs to cash?
Thanks. I was thinking they would take us on at the same base and RSUs would be the incentive to stay but obviously if they offered cash that would be fine by me too
