Google android engineers : get some pride ffs

Android is supposed to be the phone O/S for the masses. For those who cannot afford an iPhone. Instead what you have built is something that the makes it clear the iPhone is a necessary luxury. Example: Uber on a cheap Moto fails time after time. It downloads but cannot be found in the catalog. Example: people tout the android platform for letting customers add SD flash but the images and videos and apps always go to internal storage, requiring the customer to manage storage. And few apps will permit themselves to be kept on SD. So stupid.

Thanks for the suggestions. They are genuinely helpful.

"iPhone is a necessary luxury" — well said my friend. I can attest to this personally. I've jumped ships multiple times in the past but always find myself coming back to iPhone because of the incredible performance. Everything is optimized systematically across their ecosystem. Android phones are often marketed with the spec sheet at the forefront of reasons to buy, yet Apple rarely touts internal components outside of their product conferences.

The engineering problems they are solving are difficult. Like designing an OS that performs over a range of phones with different levels of performance. Why are you using a cheap moto?

Have you worked on AOSP? Its Linux with really shitty framework running mostly Java on top. The could have made it much more performant. The runtime alone is light years behind. They also have a very loose app lifecycle, which allows apps to do anything anytime, usually the cause of most perf issues

Android is definitely not the OS that's going to have the best experience for the average user. I would never recommend Android to my family members. That being said for a power user like me who likes SD cards, built in IR ports, removable battery, and a host of other things, it's really the only choice.

if you compare a cheap Android to iPhone sure, but if you compare an iPhone to flagship Android then it's another question. I'll pick the pixel over the iPhone anytime, even if the iPhone was free (in reality I'll take the iPhone to sell it and buy a pixel, but you get the point). iPhone is a luxury, but definitely not a necessary luxury.

Lol pixel is trash

doesn't change it's better than an iPhone
