Google culture vs Apple
Can someone worked in Apple and Google compare the working culture? And work / life balance. I am especially interested in hearing from the Operations team. But in general want to get better feel on the work culture of Google. I been in Apple for 3.5 years.
Getting into Google is harder than getting in Apple. If you have an offer from Google, take it and experience it first hand. If you don’t like it, just go back to Apple. I’m loving it so far at Google. Of course there are some things I miss but overall, I don’t think I will go back to Apple anytime soon (I will however, continue to buy Apple products cause I love them!!! Like logging in as root with no password! That’s such a convenient feature and I love it! 😜)
Work at Google. Consume Apple products from Amazon. Invest in Facebook stock.
Apple culture is bad. If you have goog offer take it.
Heard that HW device group sucks a lot in many ways: 1) backstabbing among teams/individuals; 2) 24x7 working style; 3) humiliating vendor engineers and pushing vendor engineers to work in the same 24x7 style, interrogating them on progress every 30 minutes or so, always expecting fix ASAP... ... Basically, it sucks a lot and is never comparable to Google's culture.
I worked in both companies. Google is much better!
Apple is very product and customer oriented. Google is engineering oriented. I’m driven by what the customers love and delivering products. What are you driven by?

I have worked in both companies in engineering and operations and they are both different.In Apple ops has lot of power with some amazing talent. Google operations is much more relaxed with no power and folks usually move out or move to other groups after getting bored.
Probably because apple's current CEO was from Ops
Well, at the least you don't have to be paranoid about keeping your work secret from your other coworkers.
