Google data scientist roles and compensations

1. What are the different data science teams at Google? 2. What kind of backgrounds/skills are required to get into these teams? 3. What are the yearly base/bonus/RSU compensations? 4. How often does Google hire for these positions compared with FB? I’m interested in the Google data scientist roles that are similar to FB’s Analytics, i.e., not deep machine learning stuff, but more like using data analysis to drive short term business decisions. Does Google have such positions? How best can I prepare for such roles? Input from Google data scientists, in particular, is greatly appreciated! I know I’ve asked a mouthful, but it’d be great if I could get answers for each question.

Thanks. Would be great if someone answered my questions regarding a quantitative analyst position at Google. About interview prep, how hard is it to get it and the level and comp.

I read a number, I don't remember where, that 70% of them have PhDs.

I’ve got a in PhD physics and an MS in math. At least I meet the education requirement. For me, getting into Google is all about preparing for and passing the interview. I’ve no doubt about my ability to do the job effectively and be a good fit for their culture. It’s those tricky probability questions or brain teasers that concern me. Also, for a quantitative analyst position, I don’t know if I should practice SWE problems on Leetcode, which is a huge time commitment. Will they ask questions about SWE? I have no idea why some people who have gone through such interviews with Google don’t share anything. They cite NDA which I always laugh at as someone who’s been in R&D for several years in a big technology company. Besides this form is anonymous.

I've heard various things about the coding. Some get basic data manipulation, some get Leetcode. My phone interview was a Leetcode.
