Got 70k/4y for L3, 4yoe Just saw guys comment someone’s 160k: “that’s low”, “make them double your equity” and just felt so unfair... I’m in Zurich, they’re in MTV, the cost of living is pretty similar, why there is so huge difference in equity then?
Out of the US is always less sadly. 70k is low for us but not sure how that compares to other Zurich offers.
Know two other guys who joined with me with 70 & 80k/4y
Probably fairly standard then
I joined at L4 in india, got 68k
prolly just local market dynamics.
That is Europe. Outside of Zurich, your base will be 30% less. Consider yourself lucky.
Yes in Europe being an swe is kind of just a regular job like many others
Taxes are lower in Zurich. 150K base in California post tax is 98K 150K in Zurich post tax is 127K 160K in equity / 4 = 40K 70K/4 = 17 ish. 150+40=190K 150+17= 167 190K take home is 123K post tax 167K take home is 141K post tax You make more money than the Mountain View guy so don’t know what you’re complaining about. It’s not how much you make; it’s how much you can keep.
Taxes really that low there? Serious question, how are they funding their government? Are there higher goods/sales/VAT type taxes?
Sales tax is higher. Taxes really are that low. They only have 5 million people. They have a ton of FDI and banking is foreign core to the country. There’s a lot of shit that doesn’t scale that big countries have to pay for and small countries do not. Without an active military, they don’t have many expenses.
It's communist Europe... What you expect? You already have free education, free health insurance, lazy people and refugees. Nothing is for free
No competing offers?
Nope, I recruited only for G, it wasn’t even planned, just tried...
