Lack of diversity in engineering division at X
Heard from a friend that Google is firing sales people with bad/ below average numbers. Google used to be a company that was huge on culture. They believed in people and supported them during their highs and lows but in some Ads Sales (Account Management) organizations people are being fired for not meeting quota 2+ quarters in a row. A lot of account management has to do with luck and having good books assigned to you but management only cares about numbers and it is unfortunate to see talented people being fired or PIP’d #Google #NonTechRole #AdSales #AccountManager
I don't get why Google employees act so precious about layoffs. It's not a nonprofit. Getting into any company doesn't guarantee one will not be laid off.
Depends on the country.
Capitalism is same to all companies, why Google is different? We are getting paid to get the shit done ultimately.
So a company should continue employing employees when they're objectively underperforming?
That's the sales industry.
Sales is like this everywhere, all the time. It's cut-throat, based on commission and if you don't perform you're out. Normally weighed with huge payouts if you do well.
Incorrect. A good sales rep can turn a bad book into revenue growth.
You are the person that fired those people or you are a manager
Given that this will be approx more than 10 percent, ingues next year also there won’t be any GC filing happening in google. Right?
Its okay, finally being at google is just like being in any other company
