Google hiring committee after phone interview?

I had a phone interview with Google for Generalist PM role. I got a reject after waiting 1.5 weeks for feedback. While I was waiting for the feedback, when I followed up with the recruiter, he mentioned that he is waiting for the hiring committee's feedback. When I got the interview reject, it also mentioned that the "team" did not think it I was closely aligned with specific need for the role. Also, 1.5 weeks to get phone interview feedback also seemed like it was not one person's decision. I asked recruiter directly but he said he won't share the details. Have you guys seen cases where they have hiring committee involved before the onsite loop? The entire experience felt very strange since I nailed the interview (I have given many bad interviews and many rejects and I know most times when my interview was bad or mediocre. But this particular one I aced before I practiced the same question many times before interview and had near perfect answer) #interview #productmanager #reject

Hmmm...so this Was this the first round phone PM interview? I passed and got the thumbs up over a week later in January 2020 I think Head count Is really low so they’re not letting people do an onsite loop til they find a HM who will take you and in my case supposedly the hiring manager has not given me feedback yet so I’ve been in limbo for 3 weeks (had my process frozen til end of October) it’s just a mess What might’ve happened in your case is that job got past the phone screen but the HM didn’t want to interview you based on resume or fit if I had to guess. Super low headcount so being ultra selective right now is my guess. Maybe a google PM can weigh in though
