Google interview experience

I did well in my Google interview, and the recruiter said it went quite positively. She didn't mention the role but hinted it would match my 2.9 years of experience. I'm wondering what to do next, especially if I get stuck in team matching. Any advice or experiences to share? Anyone stuck in the team matching? @google#engineering #software #swe #google

Did you interview for L3 or L4?

Were you not matched with a team before on-site? What location?

India. No team matching happens later right?

Ask immediately for which level you were slotted. Did the Hiring Committ already approved your application?

I asked recruiter she said she can’t tell level. But it will be according to my experience only as feedback is positive.

BS. I’m a recruiter myself and you have the right to know what level and if HC already approved your packet.

You know it is a shitty place to work if there is a team matching

How does this team matching work - if you apply to a specific role on a team there’s no later team matching right?

In 2023-2024 does HC approve before or after team match?

Is there still HC concept at Google ? I thought some time ago they got away from hiring committee concept

Sometimes HC happens before team matching, if the interview signals are clear. The recruiter will try to steer you towards the PAs they directly support, but you can still ask to have more fit calls with other PAs, if they have open roles (ie. a Cloud recruiter will try to steer you towards a Cloud team, but you can still ask for a fit call with a Search team)

How long did it take for your recruiter to give you feedback on the interview

Good luck! Also just say 3 years, no need to split hairs with 2.9 years.
