I just received feedback after on-site, the interview score is positive but the hiring manager does not want to proceed with hiring. Recruiter mentioned they are going to check with other team, and mentioned my interview scores are valid for 18months Does that mean I need to wait for team match? First time interview at google #onsitefeedback #google
If you can fix the macro economic climate, please do. Until it improves, hiring will be at a much slower pace than a couple years ago (but still non-zero!)
Ok.. let me get on it..
U can do one thing which will be very helpful for ur career. Interview elsewhere. Google is shitty spot now. Dont join
I am interviewing everywhere i can..
We may have the same recruiter, I was told exactly the same thing.
What position you interviewed for ?
Eng manager ML. You?
Yep. And expect to wait a long time. I estimate there's a thousand people stuck in team match right now for over a year.
Is there anything i can do to speed this up?
Nope. I wish I had better news. My colleagues have even resorted to finding hiring managers posting on LinkedIn about openings. Basically an offer at Google isn't worth much right now. If you have super high scores or a unique skill set then it can help bypass the line, but other than that your best hope is to take a backup offer and work there for about 12 months. By then the hope is that the pipeline will have more open roles. I hope I'm wrong and you get matched next week, but don't hold your breath.
