Brother beaten severely as a kid. Doesn’t speak to dad at all now.
I have to schedule the on site round at Google. The difficult of questions on leetcode is through the roof! Don't get me wrong, they are very intelligent questions but I don't think I'll be able to write bug free working code for most of these in an interview. I've already practiced a lot and don't know how much more I should just for Google. Any suggestions or ideas? Edit: also want to know if leetcode difficulty is the true level of difficulty of on sites.
My onsite a few weeks ago was mostly leetcode medium with extensions into leetcode hard. Successfully passed HC. Make sure to study all fundamentals, especially graph and tree traversals algos. And the more you practice the faster you'll get at writing bug free code.
That's good to hear. I see majority of hards on leetcode. Did you finish all the hard extensions with bug free working solutions?
The ones that required code I was able to come up with a working bug free solution rather quickly, but those were also on the easier side of "hard". Some of the extensions were for discussion only and they were quite difficult. Like system design, I think they just want to see that you continue to make progress and not get too stuck
If you think it's too hard back out of the interview, maybe not for you
Don't worry too much. Some practice is very useful as you are already warmed up to similar problems, but the actual interview is more reasonable.
Is that a subliminal way to say "you need to be smart too", only leetcode won't cut it
Yes. If you can’t get in the first time, it’s very unlikely you’ll get in the second time for FT from what I can tell. Lots of people say that they got in their nth time but that usually includes internships and rejects before phone screens.
