Time to defang the tech industry
Meh, let them talk. When was the last time a company was actually broken up?
AT&T in the 80’s.
Exactly
Its a great idea that week benefit everyone including Google and all its tech talent. Right now they make random decisions because most of the groups have no p&l responsibilities. Big brother ad business takes care of everyone.
Interesting
All those P&Ls with no revenue contribute to brand value and consumer sentiment that are critical to the continued success of the ad business.
What does AdWords make for G? Like 95% of revenue?
98%
Jesus that’s bad. Mark my words, in less than a decade working at G is going to be like working at Oracle or IBM.
Breaking up American tech companies will make them less competitive globally.
They used to say the same about Microsoft back at Netscape time. Didn't really go through after some lobbying and appeals.
So it is time to start paying protection money?
They’ll need a merger to stay alive
Can actually be good for Google shareholders as a bunch of business units will be forced to generate some revenue
Lol, good luck winning a suit against one of the richest companies in the world. What an absolute waste of taxpayer dollars, if the suit goes through this will probably be $1b+
They don't need to win, just enough campaign contribute to the attorney generals competition in elections. Capitalism and democracy at its finest.
