Have offers from the 2, g team is pretty solid ml team, hoping fb team would be similar, tc is almost similar both ~310k Location for G is la and FB is nyc Now I personally like Google as a company more but other than that I am also trying to go to a place with better social and dating life in general, what do you guys recommend. Congrats. What teams are in Google LA? I’d prefer Google LA as it is much cheaper to live and buy a nice house in that area, weather is nicer in SoCal and the office is literally a couple of blocks away from Venice beach.

NYC for dating
Live in NY, but would recommend you take G. While life here is great, the novelty wears of very quickly. It’s expensive, dirty, prone to congestion, and the public transport is not as reliable as you think. You can have a good life here, but you can get a great long term life in LA.
Have you tried mass transit in LA? Bet you didn’t, because it’s almost nonexistent.

La traffic sucks but just live in Venice / Santa Monica and your commute will be easy. Weather is incredible, almost alone the determining factor (can't change geography). NYC is an incredible city (live here now, eyeing LA), but honestly there are diminishing returns to it's size. Google is a much better company than FB (disclaimer used to work at Google, still heavily invested in their stock), many more lines of business, huge technical moats. The LA office is dope, right near the beach.
Would say FB and NYC. NYC has more single women vs guys so easier for dating. More to do in NYC. You gotta do nyc once in your life. LA which is tiny with horrific traffic can wait. FB in NYC is a pretty awesome place to work too
Dont disagree. Ny so easy to manage. You could see three difft sets of friends in one evening easily by subway

La is ny w better weather no pizza or bagel options. Two seasons of clothes at best. Everyone works out. Did nyc for 20 and now 20 yrs in la. Visit nyc. Live in la

LA requires a car, everything is 20-30 min away and there’s traffic at all times of the day. Great weather, always sunny and dry (but forest fires). LAX offers cheap flights to Asia/Pacific. NYC has the best transportation in the country, everything in Manhattan is within 5-20 min subway ride. Rains a lot, snows a lot, and gets really hectic with city life. NYC airports offer cheap flights to Europe.
