What’s the best leetcode strategy for Google interviews? Should I go through the most frequent google tagged questions in the past 6 months or focus on the general top 100? I’ve heard that Google rarely asks Google tagged questions.
Do problems in each domain. You won’t be getting them again in the interview though.
Apart from LeetCode, how much do we need to focus on System design and OS fundamentals for Google interviews?
Based on blinds other posts. Depends on the level you are applying for. L3 not so much.
Appreciate the response. Any idea about L4?
The strategy that helped me was feeling comfortable in every topic. For example - I would do enough backtracking problems to feel comfortable about tackling a new backtracking problem. I would validate this by trying backtracking approaches for DP problems just for the heck of it. I stuck with this approach because Google bans leaked questions so there’s a better chance if you understand how to solve problems rather than hope for a question you’ve already encountered. At the end of my prep, I was comfortable about tackling every topic. Of course, this doesn’t mean you can solve every question. If I were that smart, I’d be a red rated codeforces dude and wouldn’t be wasting my life on practising interview questions. There will always be extremely hard questions that you can’t solve. And you can’t really do anything if that happens other than think of it as an unfortunate day.
Solid advice there
I’d do 1-2 leetcodes a day. When you feel like you have good momentum, do a mock interview with somewhere like Pramp.com, Gianlo.co, or PracticeCodingInterview.com.
Hey can you share what LCs do you solve everyday? Like LC mediums or LC Hards?
Will be they be asking hard problems or mediums ?
How many years of experience will you need for l4, 5 and 6? Can you directly apply for l6 or will you need some level of experience before you can apply for that?
Depends on how much time you have. I made a custom leetcode list of 300 problems. If you have less time then sure you could go with the company tagged questions or the google interview section in the explore tab of leetcode. However if you have plenty of time then use this list. It has all the questions from Google and includes questions that will cover most fundamentals from each topic. To expedite things you can sort this list by frequency within each difficulty level (if you have premium) if you don’t then focus on easy and mediums first. Hard can be done later. https://leetcode.com/list/xnhznj81 Good luck
