Got an offer from Google - non tech, L7, tier 1 city. TC offered 550k (year 1 and 2, base 180, bonus 270, remainder RSUs) TC ServiceNow 450k (base 260, Bonus 120, remainder RSUs) YoE 16 Worth to switch? Any experience with retention offers in ServiceNow? If you vote „stay at ServiceNow“, pls explain. If you vote „negotiate“, pls share numbers/insights. #Google #AWS #Tech #Sales #Microsoft #Servicenow
Wow TC is really crashing down
Exactly. I am happy for the offer itself, but not enthusiastic about the TC.
You have more data points for non tech L7 offers? Would be helpful to understand those bands better. Tech is always way higher.
Take service now ! Google is gonna be dead in 3 years
At least they are hiring and growing. Demand for the products is still high despite market conditions. Though might also be a higher sensitivity towards expenses now. Few reorgs, no mass layoffs so far.
Wow Google is going to be dead in 3 yrs? Seriously?
Such huge bonus most probably means you're on a sales plan. Then it's probably volatile. Servicenow with a higher base looks more safe, but it really depends how confident you are about being able meet targets and get the bonus.
Yes, I also see the volatility here for Google. From what I heard, not many people are achieving 80% of their targets.
What's sales plan?
could you share the rough timeline of your offer? (Interview, getting VP approval) Some folks including me are waiting for recruiters followup after clearing interviews.
Sure. It took overall 4 months.
Don’t take a cut
What non-tech role is this?
Sales, KAE
Clearly that’s a sales rep offer. What client segment is this for at Google and what do you currently cover at SNOW? (e.g, select, enterprise, SMB, government, etc) Do you currently make quota at SNOW? Without those details hard to advise.
It is for Large Enterprise and I am covering this also in SNOW, quota carrying. Base pay is much more comfortable in SNOW tbh
Are you currently making your quota? At Google you have to be prepared that only 18% of reps make or exceed quota. 2023 guidelines released this week will make it even harder to achieve quota and there will be an active managing-out of folks who don’t achieve, which is a big departure from past years. So there is much more risk in joining, plus it screws up your exit opps. Not making quota will close most doors to you. Google isn’t winning in large enterprise. I would stay where you are. In fact had a friend recently leave GCP sales for SNOW. He loves it there and finally made quota again after 2 years at GCP not making quota.
Go to Google if Sevicenow doesn’t offer comparable retention offer
80k less in base is kind of criminal, can't they do something about that?
Google is great company, but pls be ready to ramp as quickly as possible (esp as L7). Pls expect your first 6 months to be very hectic.
Yep, nooglers getting SCI within weeks https://www.teamblind.com/post/Are-Nooglers-being-used-to-fill-the-8-16-support-check-in-SCI-quota-OEFCezgb
^ Not true but thanks for the rumors
