Google offer evaluation
My company is in a merger with Broadcom and I got communicated that I will be retained. I also got an offer from Google. Offer details: Google L3 offer: Base: 154k + 15% target bonus Joining bonus: 22k RSUs: 130k Broadcom: Base: 150k + 17% target bonus RSUs: 160k Not sure what to do. Also wanted to know if I can take PTO at Google within a month of joining as I have travel plans in late December. YOE: 2.5
It’s a no brainer. Google. This isn’t the last of the layoffs at Broadcomm. The entire VMware acquisition can be a complete failure.

+1 for YOE, goog L3 is very junior so unless you have less than 3 YOE it’s not a great deal. But if you put in some effort you can definitely get to L4 within a couple years
and you can take the PTO at Google, you can “borrow” up to 40 hours I believe. Could discuss with your manager to take unpaid time off too
To those asking about my YOE, I have 2.5 years in total.
And a Masters degree, don’t know how much it matters though.
Go for goog then, you’ll probably be on the upper band for L3 and going for L4 won’t be too bad. The L3s I know either transferred from totally different fields or were new grads and they were promoted within 2-3 years
