Is there any chance of losing Google offer because of multiple rounds of negotiation? I’m trying to negotiate since I know a person who joined the same team for a higher comp. I think the hiring manager is desperate to hire based on my conversation with him and also what the recruiter said. Current TC: 250k
Keep counters going. No harm. They can’t rescind for this.
It's fine to negotiate, but you need some competing offers.
Can you still negotiate effectively without competing offers? Does where the offer is from matter? If it’s not Big tech does it help?
Big tech usually helps more, but you can compete using other offers of course. You can negotiate without other offers, but it's unlikely to be effective. In the end of the day, negotiation is all about how much leverage you have and how much they want you.
I’m still interviewing and when I mentioned that to the recruiter she said I don’t think our comp team will match even if you get a competing offer. I thought that was a technique to make me accept the current offer
NO, you won't lose your offer, you are actually expected to negotiate, just don't give any ultimatums. Also remember, honesty goes farther than anything else.
Sure makes sense Thank you
No, that would be too much leverage for the company to threaten people with.
