Since you can choose location for Google onsite, do u have a higher chance to pass the interview at Mountain View HQ, or at a smaller city that has Google office, or it doesn't matter? I'm thinking smaller city since competition should be less fierce but I could be wrong.
I'd lean towards saying no. Google has central training process for interviewers. Also, the feedback is processed by a Hiring Committee. The hiring committee is in a different location altogether. The HC reviews not only the candidate responses but also the interviewer's questions and the interviewer's rating history, i.e. whether they tend to rate a candidate high or low. So, it's not uncommon for a candidate to not get selected despite doing well in all interviews and the other way around.
Personal opinion - I felt the San Francisco interviewers were making sure I was successful , and in the past at other locations - interviewers were not engaged and didn’t want to be in the interview
Doesn't matter
Good question, would love some insights on this from Googlers
