Google paying in prestige
Got some numbers for L3 at google recently. Base: 125k RSU: 90k total Signing: :( Location: Seattle area Then standard google stuff like 15% annual bonus. Complete lowball given I have 2 competing offers, one less competitive than the other, and the other substantially more than what googles offering. This is what they gave by telling a higher base of another offer. No negotiations yet. Not asking for negotiation help, I doubt they’ll come up high enough. But just adding another lowball to the datapoints YOE: 1 Other offer TC: 210k avg / 4/yr

Yeah I haven’t waited for negotiations and can likely bring up to at least 130k equity but it’s not worth my time. Just gonna take the other after a little negotiating there

210k is not substantially more than 170k. Even less difference if you consider the front loading at Google. Share the offer numbers email with google, they will match. 170k is 190k in the bay, which is not a bad offer for someone so close to a new grad
Recruiter told me google is trying to change its comp philosophy and doesn’t have the ability to match “those crazy offers anymore”. Other offer is willing to go up from there. I can definitely share with G but I’m tired and over it, happily able to accept the other with some negotiation since they’ve told me they have some “wiggle room”
Recruiter is getting you to sign for low. They matched my FB, Snap offers atleast for the first two years. You either didn’t perform well or your competing offers are not from top tier companies
