Recruiter mailed me the next day of the phone screen saying that "have an update on your interview" and asked for a timing to call. Is this rejection? Overall interview was good, except one silly mistake. EDIT: MOVED TO ONSITE YOE: 7 TC: 35LPA #google
Don't read into the email content, unless there's anything explicit.

Think with the other thing.
That's good news. Atleast you won't be downleveled.
Just a data point - I was rejected.
Do they send direct email for acceptance?
I was rejected after this :(
Definite reject
Moved to onsite.
It makes no difference what so ever. Do not read into it! I got a very boring email and got told that I passed my on-site. I got a nicer email then was told over the phone that I got rejected by the HC. This was last year, so it’s rather recent.
what is the location?
India
I got the same email and passed. it can go either way
Thanks for all the voting and suggestions folks. Just had a call with the recruiter. Feedback is positive and moved to onsite.

Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
Can be both. Google recruiters always do that: "update only in a call". Such a waste of time.
"Human touch", also avoiding having to write rejection emails reduces legal headache.
Do google recruiters personally spend time to call on rejects? Don’t they just send an email and move on?
