Just curious to know if Google does reference check at any stage during or after the interview process. If they do, what do they check and how? Do they call the references and talk to them or send them an email? What kind of questions do they ask to the references?
Why are you worried about it ;-) something fishy
Not worried. Trying to understand what to expect.
They called my references and spoke at some length. This was after getting through hiring committee.
Thanks!
My references were not contacted.
Yes. If nearing offer. They send emails and have a standard rubric like what are percentage wise relative to peers. Unique projects. Etc.
Is it like a standard questionnaire that they send out?
Yes. From my knowledge. It’s pretty standard. Role, value add to the team. Area you can improve on etc. percentile amongst peers. Etc. It’s pretty well put together. Basically they’re just looking for red flags. It’s very positive if they ask for them.
They did not contact mine, I provided internal and external references
Got it. Looks like they are not consistent about the process.
Seems like they contact reference only you pass interview and get to HC
