Recently got offer for google but don't want to start until like Feb-March next year. Want to take some time off before I start. Is google usually flexible with start date or is there a chance that they might take my offer back? Thx in advance. #tech #google #googleoffer #googlestartdate #noogler
Pretty flexible Shouldn't be a problem asking to delay the start date I was able to by 2 months
Great to hear! I told that I want to start the earliest on March on the first screen call I had with the recruiter but seems like it might've been ignored so was wondering
@ov3hyg I'm in a similar situation right now. Just wondering if you meant you were able to push 2 extra months on top of your original start date? Or 2 months from the day you signed the offer?
Which role? Strategy? What level and TC? Make sure you sign first and then ask the recruiter. If the hiring manager cannot bulge, then you start, otherwise they will silently give the offer to the next candidate and rescind yours.
No, if this is happening then won't happen silently. Not praising anyone here but Google is not that type of company. I'm sure fb Microsoft etc also won't do such stuff silently.
Haha. Thought everyone is like my employer.
Have you chosen a team, or are you still in that process?
I got team matched and signed my offer letter
In your offer letter it will state dates that you must start by (outside of the obvious). Generally, if these are missed, your offer is invalidated. In some cases you may be able to start a few weeks later if you mention to your recruiter/new manager that you have a trip booked, there is generally some leniency of a few weeks give or take. That said, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be able to take as much time off as you’re stating in your OP as you’ve been hired to fill a specific role that the team had made arrangements for. Going by your preference the team may as well of hired someone else.
