Google: team matching tips
Have been in team matching for like a month (passed HC with L3 SWE). I had one call before but didn't work out. Any tips and suggestions can increase my chances of having more calls? I am already open to any locations which makes me feel like my resume sucks that no one wants to set up a call with me lol. This process is so frustrated. Passing HC is meaningless until you actually have a match and an offer, plus my recruiter only replies to me when he has updates rather than answering my questions. Okay. Managers are busiest this time of the year due to performance reviews. Hang in there. April is a busy month.
Congrats! Work with your recruiter. G could take a long time but don't be too picky if you really want to leave C1. My friend just took 1 after the first 3 or so team matching calls. You can always switch team later.
The frustration I have is because that I only have one team matching call so far, and recruiter told me that hiring manger decided to move forward with other candidates. I am not sure if saying I don't prefer DevOps work is too picky or not to my recruiter and I already said I am open to any locations.
Did you apply for GCP? If yes, then your chance is slim.
I am in the same boat .. I am in team matching phase , and haven’t received any interests yet . I see so many open requisitions floating around in Linkedin and get alerts as I am subscribed . They have a large pool to choose from so they might be picky . I am thinking when should I stop pursing ? Recruiter said after 30 days my application becomes inactive .It’s been 2 weeks already since I completed my interviews, so let’s see how this spans out .
Perf cycle is ending tomorrow. As a result, managers especially have been busy with promos, reviews, etc. Perhaps a lot of HMs will have more availability to take on team match calls when it wraps. Good luck!

I had my first team matching call scheduled the same day I heard I passed HC. That first one didn’t go well and it took three more weeks until my next call. At this point, it was really difficult for me to keep waiting like this. So I asked my recruiter whether I could revise my resume to be more descriptive, and find job postings on the Google Careers website and send them to him. He said I could do both so I did that. Not sure if all that work really helped or if it was just a coincidence but I’ve received three additional calls since then and one of them said they want to extend an offer. Overall it took almost 6 weeks after passing HC for me. So try updating your resume to include more description about your work.
