# of promos for this cycle look super low, recent comp refreshes have been historically low. Beyond role eliminations, is Google trying to encourage attrition by forcing low promo budgets and low comp refreshes? TC 320 HCOL 9 YOE non tech
Comp raises were low at all companies. I got a 2% raise.
Now think about 70% of Googlers getting a 0% raise.
Thats’s just a lie. I left google not that long ago. I have many close friends there. I read in an internal trix that most people in the si bucket got at least a little raise. Now the problem with google is that it’s stock didn’t go up much in the last two years.
It's happening across the tech industry
Dumb, biased reviewers... if some other company is providing what the candidate wants, I don't see a reason in staying back in Google and getting your career controlled by poor management and these incompetent reviewers.
We didn't get raises last year bro even with stock performing well. Chill the fuk out.
Atleast stock performance was fking great.
Not quite tech, but T-Mobile has effectively killed promotions within your own team. In order to be promoted you need to make internal moves to new teams. Seems like everyone is pushing for higher attrition to minimize additional layoffs.
