San Francisco is unlivable and we want to move back closure to my husbands family in TX now that we have kids. I received two offers in Austin and looking for some advice. Both roles fall under finance: Google -Cloud (L5): $160k + 15% bonus + $180k RSUs for a total of $229k in TC SailPoint (L6/L7 equivalent): $150k + 10% + $200k for a total of $215k in TC This would normally be an easy decision towards Google but I’m hearing a lot of bad things about the team (terrible WLB, political, ex-McKinsey Harvard business egos, high turnover, etc). SailPoint is the opposite and I’m hearing great reviews on their culture. This is a higher level role too but no one really knows SailPoint so I would take a hit on brand. Thoughts?
What is your total years of experience? What kind of finance?
More program management for their team. 7 YoE.
You already have slack on your resume, so I don't think brand would matter that much. Go for sail point.
It sounds like Sailpoint might be the right answer. Two things to consider: 1. If you would choose Google for a much higher TC, just tell them what would change your mind and either let them flat out refuse you or give them a reasonable time to see if they will come up with something. Can't hurt if done in a professional way and the numbers are reasonable. 2. I would want to understand if you are near the top of the range that Sailpoint pays. If they reached up a bit to compete, raises might be small over time. Worth asking what is the salary and equity ranges for the level you are hired in at.
I work at sailpoint as a developer. Feel free to hit me up if you have questions and I'll try my best to answer them.
You are very close to the highest cap in SailPoint. So, your future growth will be limited comparing to Google. Otherwise, it's a great company to work for.
I would stay away from SailPoint. Zero leadership at the top and a creepy religious cult like culture.
+1! No leadership on all levels. Creepy conservative "all lives matter" people. Old boys club mentality across departments.
I've been working at SailPoint for four years and had nothing but an AMAZING time.
SailPoint is a mess. It's a culture of incompetence, mediocrity and culty conservatism. Stay away
Everyone who’s from Austin knows who they are and they seem to say the same thing. Thx
What does Sailpoint work on?
