Got an offer from GE India

Got an offer from GE India but today found out that I am pregnant(1 month). My joining date is 27th June. I am doubtful whether I should inform my hiring manager. Any suggestions? Edit: Thank you All. I am more concerned as in offer letter 180 days of probation is mentioned. So doubtful ...will they create any issue after probation is over due to upcoming maternity leaves?

Many congratulations. Happened to me and I disclosed it after I completed the 5 month pregnancy . TBH this is part of life and it doest not impact the work

Don't worry about it.. a disclosure of such a personal information is your personal call and not a manager's right. Also, being a manager in GE Digital, I can tell you GE HR policies in such matters doesn't give any kind of power to managers. It's very employee friendly. Once you join make sure this information is on-record so even if your manager wants to play games, he/she can't

Thank you for clarification. Its really good to know from manager. But I am concern about this probation period of 6months. As it will be ending few weeks before I start consuming my maternity leaves.

Should be okay. By law no organization can take an action against an employee for maternity. Make sure you have a discussion with HR and manager for your leave plan after you join. It will take a really horrible manager and a very dumb HR person and an even dumber VP to sign-off for any retaliatory action. The entire company will be legally liable and can be sued.
