TLDR: not anymore 💪💪 I got fired from Meta in April, and it was a total shitshow. I was with the company for 4 years, so I thought I was safe. But then the axe fell… I was depressed for a month couldn’t get out of bed. But in June I networked like crazy, studied for interviews and did a shit ton of leetcode problems. I also read up on AI. I’m not going to lie the job search was tough. It’s a fucking jungle out there but I eventually landed two job offers. One at a large tech company and another contract startup position. I surprised myself and accepted the startup position because we’re in AI. I’ve recently been having the best time at work. Just wanted to share on Blind even though it’s cringe that I’m sort of glad I got laid off from Meta. It really forced me to step outside my comfort zone and try to find a job that I’m actually excited about. If you’re laid off just wanted to say don’t give up!!
Good job
TC before and after?
Who cares?
It's Blind - nobody has to care for it to be required. TC: 0
Congrats, thanks for sharing, and sounds like you found a great new role. Where did you land and how did TC change?
Congratulations, friend. I’m glad to see you bounced back on your feet! It’s not cringe at all to be glad that you’re in a better position. Good luck with your new position! TC: 105K
Congrats. Thanks for sharing the positive story. We need more positive vibes lately. Dark times for those of us searching for months and finding nothing.
Take this to linkedin
You really can't be openly admitting you were depressed in bed in a toxic positivity haven like LinkedIn.
Damn man, then linkedin is showing me the wrong posts
You're a killer! Thanks for inspiring!
If I were fired at Meta, the first thing I would do is beat my manager up

Congratulations!!
Laid off and fired are not really the same
Different causes same outcome
Bs I have been fired for performance with severance. 3 months pay.
