Got first speeding ticket for going on 45 in 30 speed limit zone and got a fine of 202 dollors(Austin) This is my first speeding ticket. .should I 1. defer it and go to probation for 90 days 2. Take defensive driving course? Which is cheaper? Why? Also during probation will ticket stay on record? Insurance about to come up for renewal in 10 days. Advise please TC 190k TIA
If you have a lawyer or legal benefits they usually can take care of it for you and typically they can make it a non-moving ticket which doesn't affect insurance, you still have to pay
The guy was speeding. What sort of legal loophole allow that to be converted to a non-moving ticket?
Lawyers can get it tossed. The legal benefit is golden for us highly paid tech workers. Its worth it.
Never pay a ticket, appeal in writting, then in person, then pay a lawyer to make it go away.
How to do this? And how much it will cost in time and money?
Appeal in writing? 10 minutes? Appeal in person up to 2 hours. Lawyer depends on state and speed but up to a couple hundred bucks. All are easily cheaper than an increased insurance rate for years.
Take defensive driving course
Pay and move on with your life.
Thanks. Paying is fine . Want to avoid insurance hit for 3 years
