Got promoted to Principal engineer today, a hard earned promotion after getting rejected during 2 cycles in the past. Felt like a victory! After having couple of drinks, I am introspecting on my life. Looking at my 6 year old kid and my 9 year old dog. Have I lost all my time with my aging dog at the cost of chasing promotions and work. I see her being tired today and makes me sad. I have 10 years of experience and been chasing work and obsessing over it for the longest. I got my dog when she was a puppy and I was just starting my career. Maybe i gotta slow down. TC: 580k
That TC! 👌
That tc comes at the cost of intuit shoving their shitty tax software down our throats by lobbying in congress. That company is pretty gross
@PayPal pretty much all major tech companies are gross. You don't get to be this big without exploiting the fuck out of everyone along the way.
you’ll never get that time back with your dog. 6 years old is old enough that you should delegate more housework to your kid so you can spend more quality time with your dog.
Spend some quality time with your doggo and kiddo. 🐕 ❤️ 👪 And congratulations!
❤️
Time to rest and vest
My first attempt at principal scientist promotion this week and was denied :( feel very depressed
What do you mean first attempt? Is it you who nominates yourself for a promotion at Amazon?
All the best. You’ll figure it out. It is just more work and more responsibility for an insignificant pay difference. It is maddening when you step back and look at it.
Intuit pays that much 🤑
For principal band is bigger, my base is 303k rest is just accumulated grants
How long have you been at intuit to get that kinda awesome base?
Hahah!! You are only concerned about the dog😂😂
Wow you get paid so much for turbo tax. Maybe I should quit and start selling tax prep
Maybe you gotta, the question is will ya? It's a rat race and we quickly get used to the new normal
What about your kid, looks like your concern is only dog :)
exactly what i was wondering
I love my dog more, she is my first child. My kid is fine, I have only a few more years left with my dog. It is a torment.
