Shouldn’t the local governments arm twist the big employers(particularly the ones getting tax benefits) into mandating employees to RTO atleast 3 times a week and preferably on different days of the week spread across the employees? Just the opposite of what they did during Covid beginning wherein they mandated lockdown etc? This way the local economy - the restaurants/mom and pop stores/local transport etc wouldn’t collapse and the commercial real estate wouldn’t go on a death spiral. SFO commercial real estate/taxes are takinng a bit hit already. This would also bring some sense of normalcy for workers. Last 2 years has led to extreme laziness. There are folks that continue to binge watch netflix/HBO late into the night even on weekdays and lazily wake up at 8 or 9am and log in from bed. There is no decency of even taking a shower or changing from pyjamas to a business friendly look during the zoom calls. It is easily noticeable from the unkempt hair and drowsy looks. Most don’t even show their faces on webcams. This needs to change or will we shall very soon end up with people fat and lazy - sleeping during the day, watching soaps and eating random stuff at home. The ones that claim they anyways get their work done with 2 hours of working from home need to clearly start thinking of the effects it will have in their careers. This Will create a bunch of folks over-inflating tasks/achievements to make up for the slacking and folks with no sense of how to operate as a team. Worse are the folks that living in apartments with cramped spaces dealing with a working wife and kids screaming and running around. In the long run, everyone will be dead but operating this way feels like everyone is dead already.
Lol speak for yourself loser. Some of us have been the opposite of lazy because we don't have to suffer the energy draining depression of being in the office.
No, Boomer, RTO is not happening. Remote work is here to stay.
🤣
Here I quit Tesla yesterday for 5 days in office and now you want RTO everywhere. 😒 I’m seeing hundreds of people quitting recently after the vesting period here. WFH > RTO!
Businesses that want people tp RTO aren't getting as much traction as they'd like, why would local governments be able to do anything about it? I mean, if they make mass transit free or get rid of parking tickets, that would literally do more than strong-arming employees but most of the benefits would go to people working there because they either had to or wanted to anyway
This post sounds wrong and rude at so many levels. Grow up Loser. Why do you care about other’s looks? You run modeling company?
Why should free market care about all this!
Our economy is a built environment. Mom and pops will return to the neighborhoods making them walkable again. Apartments will be designed from the ground up to have work stations or more rooms. As for grooming habits—umm I think you’ve been watching too much TV. We were all depressed because people were dying and we couldn’t go anywhere. And chid care was an issue because daycare centers were closed. I work remotely now and have a standing group of ‘drinks with co-workers’ who are all remote workers in of my skill set rather than my company. And we able to relate and no worry about competing or crossing a line as much Im in my car less and I have more time so I walk more places. I am overall healthier because I cook at home for all breakfasts and lunches. Life is good.
Shouldn't everyone here arm twist you?
