Say no bro, go for atleast 30% hike
thanks! Yeah - I was hoping to get some stocks to cover this. But its weird that they aren’t offering any stocks.
They will always try to give less, go for more than 30% on base plus stocks as well, as grab will be going public this year
Don't accept anything less than 32LPA. You're being low balled
Agree!
That’s low ball offer
Try for 35+. You are being low balled here
yeah - Its a lowball offer for sure. But Its also a good opportunity work wise I think.
If you have a counter offer, then there is high possibility they might match. Anyways which role was offered? SE (G3) or SSE (G4). For G3, it's ok and for G4 its is very less.
Its G3 for now. They said they’ll promote to G4 internally after my performance review
For G3, base ~25 is ok in Grab with YOE you have. I know few folks with good amount of overall experience and also within grab. They are earning ~30L base. For promotion, the real truth is :It takes time. Atleast 1 year for best case and on average 2 years. Just FYI: Grab has a very good culture. Don't consider just TC, consider work quality and culture too
Take some numbers for comparison. Tell them that it is market standard to give RSUs and also grab standard from what you got to know by taking to ex employees. Make sure you ask for RSUs and are not offered “options”. The difference is crucial. As for the hike - most probably they will say that you have not so much experience and you have recently had your hike with your ex employer so this is the best we can offer. To that - Either be ready to walk away from the table. Or Argue that you’ll be joining mid cycle and next year you can expect an average 8 percent hike AT BEST. You want to be around for the long term and a hike below market standard on job switch makes very little financial sense at this point. This should be good enough. DO NOT FALL FOR we will promote you to G4 in some time. Ask them to give this in writing if they are saying this. And let’s see how many recruiters will do so. This is a malpractice at best. Culture is very org specific and team specific. Make sure you do your due diligence before accepting an offer.
This is gold! Thank you so much for this advice. I won’t budge on the RSUs - Definitely crucial!
