I have got a job in Seattle that will be remote for now. Looking for a place in Greater Seattle, but I am cautious about safety. Cheap places are not safe sometimes. So what areas should I avoid completely in Seattle, Bellevue or around cities? What areas should I focus? EDIT: For now, I dont have a car. I will walk. No need to come to the office (only for networking, team meetings). Open to female roommates. Pretty introvert :/ Spending most of time at home, so no need to be close to clubs, restaurants and etc. Age is mid-20. My desired rent: ~$1000
How many roommates will you be splitting rent with?

Zillow still trying to predict prices?
Really depends since there are so many factors. But in general, I'd avoid Seattle downtown( ghost town due to covid) and pretty much all of Seattle proper South of downtown (it's gentrifying). North is generally safer.
Are you going to walk or drive? Also, with that budget you can only look at having several roommates.

What's your age, social life, etc? That should also be a variable besides $$ and safety.

You can look at Ballard, Phinney Ridge, Fremont, Wallingford, U District, Ravenna. Maybe an older place and find a roommate.
for 1k you need to find a roommate buddy.
What would be the average rent? Without any roomies
May be around 1500-1700
I found Redmond to be safe and cheaper than most of the Seattle counter parts
Maybe look for something in Greenlake or near UW campuses. International students probably still need to be nearby. I guess that budget makes sense for sharing rent with them.
Def consider spending 2000 for rent for a really nice place. Or 1500 w roommate Mid 20s I would def stay in these areas: Cap hill, Queen Anne, Fremont, Ballard, Phinney, U district, Greenlake, Def avoid DT Seattle (belltown included) And anywhere south towards Renton these areas are safe but kinda boring for someone your age; The entire eastside, south lake union is alright but it’s kind of dead after 6pm and pretty much a corporate campus part of town.
