Currently interviewing at the following firms. Robinhood Twitter Instacart What is the green card policy for them? Was not able to find much info through searching old posts.
RobinHood is dead. Twitter will die. Instacart is the winner unless it’s blocking a fire exit.
Didn’t Robinhood just raise another round of funding? They got plenty of cash to burn before they die.
Reputation is damaged after the trading fiasco.
Robinhood’s greencard policy is good. On paper, you’re eligible after 6 months although you can simply request to get started early and they do it.
which law firm do they use? how dependent is this on the manager? is it correct to assume that they will allow Day 0 green card if I ask for it upfront before accepting the offer?
Its not Fragomen or Bal, someone relatively smaller. Its not dependent on manager but rather on HR team. If they do add it to your offer, I don’t see why Robinhood or any other company would not do it.
Is it possible to negotiate GC sponsorship right when you’re still on OPT?
H1B is a requirement for GC
It is not, you can apply for GC on F1 too
At Instacart you can negotiate to have them apply it on day 1, but it still takes 6 months to a year for the whole thing. Also they don't pay for premium processing but you could probably negotiate for that too before you sign the offer
How is the immigration team compared to others?
For Instacart, you can start green card application process on Day 1.
I had to wait 6 months
The policy was waiting for 6 months after joining. But it changed last year : )
OP, what's Uber's GC policy?
They can’t apply anymore for the next year or so. You can’t do perm or whatever if you had layoffs
But that should be a temporary measure only until things improve, right?
Twitter should be the best one. Not sure about Instacart but I know in the past year, Robinhood they didn’t file more than 10 PERM cases to DOL(According to the data from DOL)
Is twitter day 0 green card?
Yes. Twitter is day 0.
