I have accepted an offer from Amazon for AS position (TC: 260k). They have started my visa processing and all other things. A couple weeks later, Google invites me to have an interview. Should I decline this invitation? Or, be an a**hole, take this interview, and renege (is it even possible at this point?) the Amazon's offer if I pass the interview? In the latter point, do I need to repay the visa and relocation fees?
It's just an invite, No harm in trying, if you get the offer, then you can decide what to do ie pay back and switch or stay in Amazon or other.
Prove you understand Bezos's leadership principles by cheating on Amazon.
If you pass the interview, the offer is good for a year. Also, if you pass this time, don’t take it, and pass again later then they will really want you and you’ll have more negotiating power. Of course, none of this matters if they decline an offer. Plus, Google’s hiring bar is significantly higher than Amazon’s.
Is the bar relatively the same across different countries? The position is for an office in Asia. Also, I heard that Google has a limit of 3 onsites per candidates. Is this true? I don't want to waste 1 by coming with minimal prep.
It's quite common to quit a job early on because you were waiting on a G offer that took ages to come through. It doesn't really ding your profile as you'll have google on your resume ;) I'd say go for it.
The Amazon role is for a team in US, but the G's is for Asia. Let say I get the offer from G when I'm already in US, is the offer limited to the hiring team in Asia or can I join a team in other countries, like US? Thanks

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
This is just an invite for the first step? To go through the whole process would take at least 3 - 4 weeks. Idk when your start date is, but by that time it’s got to be close lol. I wouldn’t if I were you. But to answer your question, you would have to pay back any relocation/signing bonus. Idk about visa fees but probably not.
Yep, it's for the first step, and my start date is around April. I'm also inclined to reject the invitation at the moment since I have stopped leetcoding 2/3 months ago lol thanks
3-4 weeks .. are you kidding. Its ~2 months or more
