H1B COE timelines for Microsoft

Any one who has recently moved to Microsoft on H1B, how long did it take you from completion of forms to filing by the law firm to receipt? They have given me an estimate of 6-8 weeks which seems too long. I am also worried that the holiday season will further slow it down. It's hard not being able to resign when your heart is no longer in the job.

Which law firm are you working with? Is it 6-8 weeks to filler or to secure the approval?

Microsoft has in house attorneys.

They have in house immigration attorneys?

They are not kidding. They are competent enough to take that long or even longer.

Do you have personally experience on this and have any timelines to share?

Microsoft nh91 Nov 9, 2019

Yes. They took all the days they mentioned in those emails.

There are only few times in your life Will you test to will power. This is one of them. You don't have an offer until you join buddy. Grind that in your mind. Good luck.

Thank you, that's fair. My current team is getting a little too political with so many organisational changes happening. I have zero inclination to get pulled into this mess and would just like to be out ASAP.

6 weeks to file and get a receipt is reasonable. Ask for premium processing if you haven't already. If you get an RFE it will need another 2.5 months to clear it.
