Should I join VISA on H1B Receipt? I know it's not 100% safe but at Hitachi also it's a lot of uncertainty. I'm in cyber security and my masters is in IT and yoe is 7. I have discussed with the manager and he said that they are ok to relocate if anything happens. Your opinion is appreciated! CTC 125k New TC 215k Location Denver #offer #h1b #h1btransfer #visa
Your H1B is not approved yet, stay put.
Ok.. but Hitachi is laying off almost every month and hiring in other countries
I got my approval within 1 day of receipt!
Really ? Transfer?
Yep. How long does it usually take?
OP, when did you get your receipt ? Visa has hiring freeze for unfilled positions. So consider being lucky to get the offer in time. Cyber security, depending on the team, has its presence in Uk, Singapore and India. Make sure to discuss back up plans with HM and immigration before joining on receipt. GL.
I should have my receipt in 2 weeks. Yes, the HM told the same thing that they are on hiring freeze. They are willing for upgrading to premium once it opens and also willing to relocate to other countries if shit goes down completely.. I'm 90% after speaking to the HM but 10% Still is a bit scared
Consider Visa has a very stagnant culture with people who have been there for years and are OK with business as usual
So does it mean it's safe to join?
Safe and boring They have done a few reorgs but not too much on the tech side
