Hi, Got this as starting offer(Seattle): Role: Senior Software Engineer Base: 185k RSUs: 300k for 4 years (ATT stocks) Joining bonus: 50k (first year)+ 25k(2nd year) Bonus target: 13% Is there any room for negotiation? I would also like to know how are the refreshers and avg base pay increase per year? Current TC: 210k Current YOE: 5 #Hbomax
You can get a lot more signing, my staff offer had $215K signing bonus over 2 years
Curious why HBO gives att stock?
That’s because HBO is owned by ATT. They have sold it to discovery though and there is a merger supposed to happen next year.
Gotcha. Also, think about the dividends given by att. That's great
Congratulations on the offer. Can you please share your interview experience?
1 phone round - LC easy 4 rounds for virtual on site - 3 LC mediums and one design round question referenced from grokking. Each virtual on-site round had leadership principle questions as well.
Congrats on the offer! Any idea what’s the company culture like and the WLB?
Your att stocks will be replaced by new entity next yr
I’ve received a very similar offer, my base is 10k less. Does your stock grant include LTI?
This(300k) is the STI component that starts vesting 8-12 weeks from hiring. LTI is separate 75k which won’t start vesting until the end of 2nd year and goes on till 5th year. I didn’t list it because the recruiter himself wasn’t sure what will happen to this component once discovery takes over
STI starts vesting or they are granted after 8-12 weeks? Joining very soon, a bit confused about the vesting date.
https://www.reddit.com/r/stocks/comments/r5zseg/att_sees_slower_wireless_growth_sending_stock_to/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf ATT stock at 12 yr lows. You could have bought at the lows of .com bubble and 08 financial crisis and YOU’d STILL be down now. Shit run company.
Pretty normal offer. 75k RSU refresher every year. Not sure you can negotiate much. Maybe a little on joining bonus? But maybe not. Pay increase last year was flat 2%. This year there is no personal rating multiplier and will be flat again, but not sure how much. Unknown what will change after the merger next year…
2% seems pretty less. And the 13% bonus mentioned in the offer is the maximum an individual can get meaning does it vary based on individual’s performance?
13% is target for “meets expectations”. It can go up or down based on personal and company performance. Max is 150% * 13%
don’t. you’ll be pretty miserable there. no autonomy, just taking marching orders from ex-comcast idiot.
AT&T stock has been kinda trash. Down since 2000 and never gone up. With steep competition in the streaming space, dunno if they have any upside + more competition with starlink and virtual mobile operators…who knows if they’ll be able to turn their stock around. It’s more TC, so it might be worth it if you sell the stock when it immediately vests and reinvest elsewhere.
