I don't even consider HR as an option when subjected to harassment or sexism, after hearing from women colleagues about their experiences and reading in the media about harassment cases and how HR "helped". The only option really is to move teams or even jobs to avoid the harrasser. Sad.

Or create a thread on Blind, to see if somebody else is being harassed, for example.

Not just women get descrminated against,. I work for a feminist who promotes women over men and openly stated we could hire a male candidate because we were out of balance and needed to hire a woman. I would not dream of going to HR,. Looking outside the company now.

What makes you think that she promotes women over men?

HR works to advance the interests of the company. They’ll help you only when it’s consistent with that.

I pretty much knew HR was useless, but I felt I had no choice (I tried to change my department, but it was denied). As soon as I reported it and she made every excuse for why my manager was justified, I documented the meeting and packed up most of my stuff. I knew I was on borrowed time and was planning to quit at the end of this month, but they beat me to it.
