Ive been in SEG HW group at š for a few years and Iām feeling burnt out with the bad wlb from constant deadlines, my job in hardware also does not have much innovation and Iāve been working on switching to a remote SW position for the past few months grinding leetcode. There are multiple reasons I am switching jobs, but the main reason is to get a better WLB with remote option. Any recommendations for SW companies with good WLB that also have remote entry-level roles? Please share if you have made a similar switch!!š I still get plenty of rejections when I apply myself, I think because my title is not software related or that I am on Visa. I went from apple to Microsoft HW/SW. The wlb is very team specific, there are certain teams which are more brutal than SEG. Am on visa as well.
Oof, canāt imagine a worse wlb.. Ill keep that in mind when I interview! When you made the switch, did you also study for system design?
Yes I did. I joined as a L61 after 2 years as PD in SEG. At SDE2 although not extensive, you are expected to design system, work independent etc. System design is a part of interview so yes

DM for ServiceNow. They have remote/hybrid roles with pretty good WLB.
