How different is a hardware Engineer with coding interview from a regular software interview ? Couldn’t get mich information online.
It’s Google and they call it ‘hardware Engineer with coding’ seems like a general pool of positions hence the post. Not sure as to how they would differentiate between different domains in the interview like VLSI or Signal Processing etc. The recruiter gave some generic info which seemed like the same info as for a Software position.
Hey there, I've interviewed for hardware roles at some good hardware companies and interned at one of them. Currently interning as a software engineer so I've seen both sides. Hardware interview involve a lot less leetcode questions and more about behavioral and talking through your resume stuff. You should be ready to answer anything on your resume and what was your thought process when you made a decision. They'll also let you design a certain system that the team uses or has made in the past and evaluate you based off that. Good luck!
Thanks much .. will keep that in mind :-)
Interesting, do they pay the same?
Hardware always pays less
For Google hardware, Coding round for hardware is only included if your job requires coding. That too the questions will be around simple real life programming problems you may have to solve not the esoteric leetcode questions.
I don't know why there aren't the resources for hardware as there is software when it comes to interviews
