Can past SWEs share their experiences with The Quant Guide's program (www.thequantguide.com)? I'm interested in quant trading and quant research.
College bud of mine used that program and moved from SWE at the big G to HRT in a quant capacity. Dude made over 1M in 2023. Pretty sure that he went from working 20 hours at G to a solid 45+ hours at HRT though.
Complaining about a 45 hour work week is WILD, yall lazy asf man
what does he do?
For sure, if you're committed, the program is great. Their interview prep and general recruiting insights were a massive help. I used to be at a FAANG level pre ipo company as backend Eng and recently moved to citsec in a quant role. 40-50hr/week with a 775K target TC my first year
hey! mind if I DM you?
sure
Do you need c++ for HFT firms? Does this program teach everything you need for interviews? Thoughts on the price?
Only a small subset of roles (usually just the LL dev roles) require c++. Curriculum seems very comprehensive.
Do you not need to be extremely cracked to land these roles?
I'm at an HFT MM and from my experience, you don't need to be a genius for these roles, you just need to know how to do well on interviews to break in. It's sucky but if you get "good at the game" so to speak then you become very marketable. I don't think this is as relevant to lateral hires who already work at HFT though, and mostly for those who are coming from other industries.
Wow this exact fake shill post is back again with all the same fake comments lmfaooo. It’s a scam. When will these guys quit trying to market their scam???
Scam scam scam scam scam scam scam. Same group of losers keep making these fake “question” posts with fake answers to push their scam product. Beware!
