Title says it all. I have an offer but worried about giving notice now considering impending google layoffs in January. Layoffs might mean my offer getting rescinded and me left with no job. TC:650k 13 yoe #tech #layoffs #fitbit
Ask the recruiter to add a clause in the offer that says that once you provided notice to the other company the offer cannot be rescinded...and if they do they pay you the new salary until you find another job paying at least as much as the one you just left.
Lol
Extrodinary times require extrodinary measures...
Just to be clear, i have the official offer, signed and back ground check cleared. Visa processing is in progress.
Wait till visa transfer is approved before giving notice. That should take you into Jan
This is good advice. I think the chances of your offer being rescinded is very low but better safe than sorry.
Give a notice first day on a new job. Better be safe than sorry
No . I don’t think Google will do . I am joining first week of Jan Ping me if you want to discuss
What layoffs in January? 😂
They are doing it. Plus nooglers will be on chopping block for q1 layoffs just like what meta did.
Thanks for this insider info.
Are you in hardware?
Yes
Unlikely for Google
Yeah recently happened to a friend for a marketing manager role. Verbal offer but then never got approved at the top. Luckily she never quit yet
In this case official offer never came. I wouldnt call it “rescinded”
