not sure why they’re hiring, can anyone recently accepted an offer or been hired since layoffs give insight? is their offer way lower than normal?
Dont man, doordash is doing better than lyft
Yeah but lyft TC is pretty hard to beat assuming I get the offer though
Yeah thats true. No harm in giving the interview. Anyways are you on a visa?
Same question here, I saw they post an opening after layoff. Considering a potential up role
We're only hiring critical roles, and new hires <6 months were spared from layoff to the best of my knowledge That being said, things will be rocky for a while and you will definitely live with a lot of anxiety
Why hiring for critical roles instead can you guys not layoff people? Just curious how things work with the companies who laid off recently
It's just resource allocation. Trim fat on bloated teams and still hire where people need to be hired. At least that's how it's supposed to go.
If there's a second wave of COVID, ride sharing will tank again and there will be more layoffs. Super risky for now.
I guess it’ll be risky until there’s a vaccine
New hires are getting better deals right now due to a lower stock price. If you can handle a bit of uncertainty it can pay off big. Lyft is still a great place to work and things will get better.
That’s assuming we get a vaccine some time soon. Under normal circumstances it’d be great to work there
I see more people going out, as things start opening up. But you’re right it will be a while before the world goes back to normal
Doordash is now hot. With ipo down the line, you can get big. Lyft Business is down.
Their offers are okay now. L6 offer 600k TC.
How’s we work doing rn when everyone is wfh? Were there more layoffs?
Yes
If not on visa, why not give it a try. If on visa, purely depends on your risk tolerance. There is not right/wrong answer here.
What role is it ? Did you apply or recruiter reached out to you ?
SWE. applied before layoffs happened and got contacted last week by a recruiter
