New privacy policy is insane.
Use Telegram or something else. Currently using WhatsApp but with their new policy I am having second thoughts.
What exactly is the policy difference from 2016 for personal accounts and not business accounts? I find it to be negligible
Good luck getting all your friends/family to do that.
Plz explain more what is the policy
In short they collect and share all the data with Facebook and your only choice to opt out is to delete the app.
What's the problem here? WhatsApp is anyway owned by Facebook. Also, the switch isn't worth the pain of losing connectivity with friends/family, who are extensively on WhatsApp.
Their parent company banned Trump. That should be enough for all of Trump fans to switch to tin cans and a string
I’m a republican and I’d still join Facebook for that TC. I’ll keep my mouth shut and make 300K thank you.
Second that! Take that 300K and turn into FB Snowden eventually?!
I thought about this and discussed with my friends, it's hard because our parents in India and elsewhere are not gonna switch out of WhatsApp easily
It's easy. Tell them to install signal and let the use WhatsApp until they get used to signal and eventually move out
@Teefs, I'm going to take a guess here and say you've never dealt with explaining tech to Indian parents
Never used it to begin with
Planning to. In the process of switching to signal. However it will be challenging since I know a lot of people who will still prefer WA and FB messenger.
Switched to Signal a while ago and it’s good.
First they give you a phone with number for free and after you are using it with the world, ask you to strip naked for their boss or give the phone back. There is no option to pay for whatsapp
Explain?
Data sharing with facebook (content, media, analytics, contacts, interactions etc) and third parties but they still cannot read messages (they can read stories though)
Then what are they sharing? Next year they will tell you, we will read every word you type
